Jagan Expresses Frustration Over Religion Inquiries During Tirumala Visit

YSRCP chief and former chief minister YS Jagan stated that everyone knows about his caste. He expressed his anguish that when he says he is going to Tirumala, people question his religion. He mentioned that while he reads the Bible within the four walls of his home, outside, he respects and follows Hindu, Islamic, and Sikh traditions. He asked to write his religion as humanity in the declaration if anyone wanted.

He noted that his father, during his tenure as Chief Minister, offered silk garments to Lord Venkateswara during the Brahmotsavams for five years, and he has done the same as the Chief Minister. He questioned, “Don’t they know my religion? Don’t they know my caste?”

Jagan said that he started his padayatra after visiting Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala and again visited the temple via the footpath route after completing the padayatra. He pointed out that he has visited Tirumala more than 15 times, yet he is being asked to give a declaration.

He criticized the act of politicizing religion as deplorable and questioned why BJP leaders are not reprimanding Chandrababu, and why they continue to support him.

Jagan accused Chandrababu of increasing the price of ghee and attempting to supply it from his Heritage company. He alleged that Chandrababu’s wrongdoings are coming to light one by one and criticized him for setting up an SIT despite being the one at fault. Jagan questioned the plight of ordinary Dalits if a former CM like himself faces such harassment. He emphasized that Hinduism is about showing humanity.
