It has been a day of shocking Income Tax (IT) raids that have left the entire Tollywood industry in a state of shock. Conducted on some of the biggest names in the industry yesterday, the raids have hit several prominent names such as producer Dil Raju, Shirish, Hanshitha Reddy, Tejaswini, Mango Media, Mythri Movie Makers, and several other influential personalities in the film business. These raids were conducted in Hyderabad and other neighboring areas, raising alarm within the industry.
IT officials launched a comprehensive investigation, questioning the individuals involved about their properties and financial dealings. Sources suggest that the authorities were particularly focused on scrutinizing the financial records and transactions of these individuals, including bank accounts, business dealings, and asset declarations.
One of the most notable individuals under investigation is director Sukumar, known for his blockbuster success with Pushpa 2, which has grossed over ₹1800 crore globally. Sukumar was reportedly taken directly from the airport to his residence, where IT officials conducted a thorough raid, looking into his financial records, including bank transactions, locker contents, and other assets.
