The SIT that is moving aggressively in AP Liquor Scam seems to be getting ready for a major step in this case. Considering hectic movements among senior officials, it is believed that SIT is preparing to issue summons to YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who the SIT considers to be the ultimate beneficiary of the Rs. 3500 crore liquor scam that is said to have taken place during the previous YSRCP government in the state.
In this context, SIT Chief Rajasekhar Babu came to the DGP office in Mangalagiri on Thursday to discuss the latest developments. He is reportedly providing the latest details on the liquor scam to DGP Harish Kumar Gupta. At the same time, it seems that the issue of issuing summons to Jaganmohan Reddy, in addition to the Rs. 11 crore seizure matter is also being discussed.
It is reported that they are discussing the consequences that may arise if Jaganmohan Reddy is issued a summons and the precautions to be taken. These developments are making sure that the AP government prepares to give a big shock to YSRCP chief YS Jagan. Soon after, the SIT is likely to issue summons to him for questioning.
Another key development has taken place to strengthen these speculations. The police, who have already arrested several key accused in this case and sent them to jail, recently arrested another accused, Varun Purushottam, in Hyderabad while he was fleeing abroad and brought him to Vijayawada for questioning.
Based on the information given by Varun Purushottam, the SIT officials who seized Rs 11 crore from a farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Wednesday leaked that this amount belonged to the main accused in the liquor case, Raj Kasireddy. However, he objected to this and filed an affidavit in the ACB court. He alleged that he had no connection with this money and that the SIT was conspiring to block his bail.
