In a major development in the sensational AP liquor case, while Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy got interim bail, the ACB court issued a verdict granting bail to three other people who were remanded in the case. They are retired IAS Dhanunjaya Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy’s former OSD Krishnamohan Reddy, along with Balaji Govindappa got bail on Saturday.
The court imposed several conditions while granting bail. The ACB court granted bail to three people considered key in the liquor case. Retired IAS Dhanunjaya Reddy, who played a key role during Jagan’s tenure, is A 31 in this case. The SIT has mentioned many aspects in the charge sheet regarding Dhanunjaya Reddy’s role in cash transactions.
Similarly, Krishnamohan Reddy, who worked as Jagan’s OSD, was granted bail. He was granted conditional bail. Balaji Govindappa, who was A 33 in this case, was also granted bail. These three have been made to give two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each and submit their passports to the court. With this, now there is an opportunity for these three to come out.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day the court granted interim bail to MP Mithun Reddy. The court issued a verdict giving Mithun Reddy the opportunity to vote in the Vice Presidential election on the 9th of this month. Mithun Reddy was supposed to surrender again on the 11th of this month.
With this, Mithun Reddy was released from jail. Meanwhile, on the same day, bail was granted to Dhanunjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy and Balaji Govindappa, who have been in remand for almost 120 days in this case. These three have tried for bail three times.
In their latest arguments, they argued that they have been in remand for more than 90 days and that there has been no new progress in the case. Now, it is becoming crucial that eight of the 12 people arrested so far in this case are granted bail. Many felt this has paved the way for them also to get bails in subsequent court proceedings.
