IAS officers Appeal To Chandrababu Naidu To stay In Andhra Pradesh

Three IAS officers, Srujana, Harikiran, and Shiva Shankar, approached Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, seeking his intervention to stay in Andhra Pradesh. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had recently issued directives transferring them to the Telangana cadre, requiring them to report to the Telangana government by the 16th of this month. In their meeting yesterday, the officers briefed Chandrababu Naidu about the DoPT’s decision.

Srujana and Shiva Shankar conveyed to the Chief Minister that their assignment to the Telangana cadre was due to their use of a Hyderabad address on their Civil Services application. Harikiran pointed out that his transfer to Telangana stemmed from being placed in the reservation category, despite his selection in the general category. The Chief Minister reportedly promised to discuss the situation with the central government to find a solution.

Recently, the DoPT made an important ruling about the allocation of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh cadres. It rejected the appeals from several officials from both states who wished to remain in their current roles. As a result, the central government ordered 11 officials stationed in Telangana to transfer to Andhra Pradesh and five officials from Andhra Pradesh to move to Telangana. In response to this development, three officials sought a meeting with Chandrababu Naidu to discuss their concerns.
