Expressing anger that an atrocity was committed against women every 8 minutes during Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime in the state, Home Minister Anita said that after the alliance came to power, they are becoming too afraid just by looking at them. Home Minister Anita answered in the Assembly on the Home Department budget grants.
She said that the Shakti App was bought with Rs. 17 crores for the protection of women. Now anyone can call 112 through Shakti App and steps have been taken to provide night shelters. This system has been set up to save those in danger in just 5-10 minutes, she said.
Minister Anita revealed that efforts are being made to set up cyber police stations in all 26 districts across the state. She alleged that during the Jagan government, wherever ganja was found in the country, the name of AP was mentioned, but after the alliance came to power, the situation has completely changed.
“We are waging a war on ganja and for this, the Eagle system has been set up. A large amount of ganja has been transported from Odisha. Steps have been taken to curb crimes and ganja through drones”, she added.
Anitha clarified that a resolution has been passed to impose the PD Act on those who cultivate and transport ganja. She was angry that the police forgot their duties and closed the curtains during the Jagan government. She complained that SC and ST atrocity cases were filed against her, a Dalit, and harassed her during the previous regime.
Anitga deplored that the CCTV cameras, which are crucial in monitoring law and order, were also neglected. On this occasion, the minister revealed that it has been decided to install 1 lakh CCTV cameras across the state. She accused that the police were used only for guarding them during the previous regime and they were not even able to focus on the investigation.
The minister said that the police could not file charge sheets in many cases due to lack of technical equipment and inability to complete the investigation. The minister clarified that now the necessary equipment and technology have been made available to the police department. She said that cyber crimes and financial crimes are happening on a large scale and all measures have been taken to prevent them.
