Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, a former government advisor, has secured temporary relief as the Andhra Pradesh High Court has extended its earlier orders concerning him. The court has delayed any strict actions against the senior YSRCP leader regarding the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters for an additional four weeks. This extension provides Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy with a brief respite amid the ongoing legal proceedings.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has submitted a petition to the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters. The court reviewed his petition on Friday. Senior advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, who is representing Sajjala, contended that the look-out circulars issued against him led to his detention at the airport upon returning from abroad.
Concurrently, the lawyer for the police requested more time from the court to provide comprehensive details regarding Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. They assured the court that the complete information would be submitted soon. The High Court judge granted this request and instructed the relevant police officials to present the look-out circular (LOC) issued against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy at the next hearing.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has alleged harassment from the police, specifically pointing out Guntur SP Satish Kumar’s issuance of look-out notices against him, despite the High Court’s prior orders to refrain from punitive actions. In light of this, he has filed another petition seeking legal recourse against the police officials involved. During the court proceedings, notices were issued to several key officials, including the Chief Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Home Department, Kumar Vishwajit, DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao, Guntur District SP Satish Kumar, and the CI of the Mangalagiri Rural Police Station. The High Court has granted Sajjala a temporary reprieve by prohibiting any strict actions against him for the next four weeks.
