The CBI seems to have suspended its investigation into the mysterious death of former minister Dr YS Vivekananda Reddy, particularly keeping silent on the issue of conspiracy behind this murder. Though all fingers being pointed out towards former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his wife YS Bharati, the CBI has not questioned them even once about how they knew about the murder, even before?
Only the CBI should know why it has not investigated with whom Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy had calls and chats on WhatsApp before and after the murder of Viveka. The CBI has stopped the investigation at a crucial stage, which had reached the point of uncovering the main conspirators.
Many suspicions are being expressed as the CBI, which had said in the courts that the investigation should continue at the stage of uncovering the wider conspiracy behind Viveka’s murder, has not taken any action in the case for two years. It almost suspended the investigation after filing the second supplementary charge sheet on June 30, 2023.
Avinash Reddy’s personal assistant MV Krishna Reddy revealed to the outside world that Viveka had died on March 15, 2019 at 6:15 am, and Jagan knew this information a few hours before that, the CBI has stated in the affidavits submitted to the Telangana High Court and the supplementary charge sheets filed in the trial court.
It has been said that MP Avinash Reddy was active on WhatsApp before and after the murder and also made calls. It has been stated that his role in passing on the information about Viveka’s murder to Jagan needs to be investigated in more depth. It has been explained that the investigation should be continued to determine who else was involved in the huge conspiracy that led to the murder.
The CBI, which told the court all these key points, abandoned the investigation without investigating those aspects. So far, the CBI has filed one primary charge sheet and two supplementary charge sheets in the Viveka murder case. It has been two years since the second supplementary charge sheet was filed. The examination of the documents has not been completed yet.
How much more time will it take to register charges and conduct the investigation is an unanswered question. Viveka’s daughter Dr Sunitha filed a petition in the Telangana High Court in January, seeking an order to the CBI court in Hyderabad to complete the investigation of the case within 6 months. There was only one hearing on it. There has been no progress since then.
