Harish Rao Criticizes Revanth Reddy Over SLBC Tunnel Incident
BRS MLA and former minister Harish Rao has strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to the SLBC tunnel site to oversee rescue operations. He alleged that the project was rushed for political gains, disregarding technical aspects and worker safety.
Harish Rao accused the government of ignoring workers’ warnings and forcing them into hazardous conditions, leading to the current crisis. He claimed that after endangering lives, the government is now engaging in mere theatrics. He demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge to identify those responsible for the incident.
He further questioned why the government was concealing facts about the project, stating that during KCR’s tenure, project work did not come to a halt. “How did 11.48 km of tunnel construction take place without funds? From 2014 to 2023, ₹3,900 crore was spent on the tunnel—why is this being hidden?” he asked.
Harish Rao also criticized the state government’s stance on Andhra Pradesh’s water diversion, alleging that CM Chandrababu is transferring 10,000 cusecs of water daily. “Instead of targeting us, if you have the capability, take action against Chandrababu,” he remarked.
He further accused the Congress of maintaining contradictory ties with the BJP, questioning why BRS leaders were stopped from visiting the SLBC tunnel site while BJP leaders were allowed.
