Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former Telangana Minister Harish Rao responded to the Telangana High Court’s dismissal of K.T. Rama Rao’s (KTR) quash petition in the Formula E race corruption case, stating that the court’s decision does not imply any wrongdoing by KTR.
“The High Court only allowed the investigation to continue; it did not state that KTR committed any irregularities,” Harish Rao told reporters. He emphasized that the Formula E race benefited the state and caused no financial loss. “When there is no corruption, where is the scope for a case?” he questioned.
Harish Rao accused CM Revanth Reddy of engaging in diversionary politics and alleged that he is resorting to blackmail tactics to defame the government. “Revanth is trying to cover up his failures by pushing for illegal arrests. Despite this, we will continue to question him,” he added.
He clarified that the government did not pay a single rupee to Greenko, the event’s partner, and asserted that there was no misuse of funds. He further stated that a decision on whether to approach the Supreme Court will be taken based on legal advice.
Following the court’s verdict, several BRS leaders gathered at KTR’s residence in Nandinagar to express solidarity.
ACB Intensifies Investigation
Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its probe into the Formula E case. Officials conducted searches at the residence of BLN Reddy, former chief engineer of HMDA, who is listed as Accused No. 3 in the case. Simultaneously, ACB teams also raided the residence of senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, named as Accused No. 2.
Both officials are scheduled to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on Thursday as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities in organizing the Formula E race in Hyderabad.
