BRS senior leader and erstwhile Telangana Minister T. Harish Rao, who is well known for his issue-based and dignified politics, has finally reacted to the recent allegations leveled by TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud. Being a person who maintains a distance from personal attacks, Harish Rao was visibly pained by the allegations and came out with a stinging counterattack.
With the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project being probed currently, Harish Rao—along with BRS supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao and BJP MP Etela Rajender—will be appearing before the commission in the next few days. Putting this in perspective, Mahesh Kumar Goud blamed Harish Rao and Rajender for having a clandestine meeting at a farmhouse in Shamirpet, reportedly at the behest of KCR, to deliberate on how to come up with a common version during the inquiry.
Addressing social media on Saturday morning, Harish Rao rejected the allegations as baseless and irresponsible. He condemned Mahesh Kumar Goud for indulging in “cheap politics” and questioned how one in such a senior political role could make such unsubstantiated accusations.
Harish Rao clarified that he has not conducted any personal meetings with leaders of opposition parties or those who have left BRS. He explained that the meetings with the individuals were coincidental, like on social occasions like weddings or funerals.
