Former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao lamented that the two national parties- BJP and Congress that were supposed to fight in Delhi over the increase in BC reservations, are doing dramas in the streets by wooing and insulting BCs. He was furious that the Congress and BJP parties are doing dramas in the name of BC reservations.
To this extent, he lashed out at both the parties on Saturday at the X venue. When, the BJP is in power at the Center and the Congress party is in power in the state, I wondered that after these two parties support, who will stop the increase in BC reservations? The BJP has 240 MPs in Parliament and the Congress has 99 MPs, who will block the reservation bill?. he asked.
He said that the Congress party, which has conducted the census six times, has never conducted the BC census, while the BJP has been postponing the census for four years. He criticized that in the past 35 years, when the Congress ruled this country for 15 years and the BJP for 17 years, both parties would never have remembered BCs. But now, he accused the two national parties of playing a hypocritical role in BCs.
Harish Rao recalled that KCR was the only leader who had demanded a BC ministry at the Center in 2005, that he had sent a resolution in the Assembly twice to increase reservations, and that he had personally met the Prime Minister to request it. However, he deplored that the ruling BJP and Congress parties at the Center have not moved, and have not yet increased reservations.
Moreover, he said that they have not formed a BC ministry. Why is Rahul Gandhi, who says ‘Jitani Abadi Utna Haq’, not introducing a private member’s bill in Parliament?, he asked. He also wondered that why neither Union Ministers Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, nor eight BJP MPs are putting pressure on the Center?
”The Congress, which has conducted the census six times, has never conducted a BC census. BJP has been postponing the Jana Gana for four years. Didn’t the Congress and BJP, which have ruled for all these years, remember BCs? KCR has twice passed a resolution in the Assembly to increase reservations”, he said.
“Why didn’t Rahul Gandhi introduce a private member’s bill in Parliament? Two Union ministers and 8 BJP MPs should put pressure on Modi. The fight should start in Delhi for increasing BC reservations,” he added.
