Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been cleared of charges after the Guntur Special Court dismissed a criminal case against him. The case originated from comments he made during a “Varahi” meeting in Eluru on July 9th last year, where he accused some volunteers of turning into anti-social elements. These remarks sparked complaints from officials in the NTR and Guntur districts, leading to the filing of a case.
Following these complaints, the Public Prosecutor was instructed to file a case under Sections 499 and 500 of the IPC, and the then Special Chief Secretary, Ajay Jain, issued orders on July 20th to move the case forward. The case was initially filed in the district court and later transferred to a special court, where Pawan Kalyan was notified.
However, at the court trial, the volunteers, who had filed the complaint, came in with a clarification that they had not signed for it and they were also never involved in that case. In consideration of the clarification, the judge ordered the termination of the case and gave relief to Pawan Kalyan from the allegations.
