Tollywood director Gowtham Tinnanuri, renowned for films like Malli Raava and Jersey, clarified recent speculation regarding his project with actor Ram Charan and Vijay Deverakonda’s latest release Kingdom. Although a film with Ram Charan was announced earlier, it did not materialize. Addressing rumors that the same script was used for Kingdom, Tinnanuri confirmed that both stories are entirely different.
In an interview, Tinnanuri explained that he had pitched an idea to Ram Charan, who liked it initially. However, the director later felt it was not the right fit and decided to withhold the project, assuring Charan that he would return with a stronger story. He also revealed that Vijay Deverakonda never heard the first version of Malli Raava, as the actor was celebrating the success of Pelli Choopulu at the time. Meanwhile, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Tinnanuri, released on July 31 and grossed ₹67 crore worldwide in its first three days, according to Sithara Entertainments.
