Google is to significantly increase its footprint in Andhra Pradesh by setting up new campuses at Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. The firm has already identified 250 acres at Anandapuram in Visakhapatnam for a huge data center project, indicating its firm intent to support the growth of technology in the state.
In December 2024, Google confirmed its plans by signing the agreement to build the data center. Bikash Kole, Vice President of Global Networking with Google, visited Visakhapatnam recently to look for sites and observe the preparations for development.
At the same time, Google is also keenly examining possibilities to establish a customised office space in Amaravati. Representatives of the firm have gone around visiting various top locations in the capital city in keeping with the vision of the state government to make Amaravati a contemporary IT and innovation destination.
Coming on the heels of this growth narrative is the soon-to-rise Quantum Valley Technology Park, with backing from top industry players like TCS, L&T, and IBM. Launching by January 2026 in Amaravati, this initiative will make the city a leader in state-of-the-art technology development.
Google’s existing partnerships with artificial intelligence and future projects will be based out of the Amaravati campus, which will accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s fast-growing technology ecosystem.
