Girls Hostel Hidden cameras Row creation From Lover’s clash?

The uproar created over the `hidden cameras’ in the girls hostel washrooms in Gudlavalleru Engineering College seems to be fizzling out in the police investigation. Till now the investigation failed to identify any trace of hidden cameras or even alleged spread of girls washroom videos anywhere.

Though anxiety among girl students has not subsided and suspicions are continuing, no technical or other evidence is traced so far. The Kakinada JNTU is also conducting departmental inquiry. A report on this issue is likely to be submitted to the government on Tuesday.

The investigation officers are said to be believing that the story of ‘hidden cameras’ spread out of clashes between lovers. Love affair between two girls and three boys led to misunderstandings between them.

The investigation team headed by Gudivada CCS CI Ramanamma, SI Madhuri, along with a five-member technical committee investigated the case. The technical team of the bomb squad has already searched and found no devices.

It is felt that a student accused another student of setting up a hidden camera in the bathroom shower. When the students were interrogated, none of them claimed to have seen hidden cameras or videos. Screen shots taken by one or two students while they were talking came to the attention of the investigation team.

A student in the group of five students who saw this screenshot advertised it as hidden cameras. The rest of the students, who believe this, are answering in the inquiry that they have heard if someone told them. Now, they are suspecting that ‘hidden cameras’ was a created story in this `lovey story’.

Meanwhile, the college management has declared holidays till September 3, and is now considering extending until the investigation into the matter is completed. Two students have already been detained by the police and are being interrogated.

The management also says that a triangular love story, a one-sided love affair, opened up this suspicion. Moreover, it was felt that the caretaker of the girl’s hostel, who ignored when she first received the complaint, was also responsible for causing this mess. Her retaliatory threats to the students are raising suspicions. On the directions of Minister Kollu Ravindra, the college management suspended her from duty. Some students say that the warden has found a hidden camera, but she declined.
