GHMC Bans Unauthorized posters, wall writings In Hyderabad

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, Amrapali Kata has taken a key decision on advertising posts and ads within Greater Hyderabad and warned that strict action will be taken if posters are posted on the walls without permission from now on. She said that this was part of GHMC initiatives to ensure a `Clean Hyderabad’.

Wall posters and wall writings have been completely banned in GHMC since Friday. The officials have been ordered to impose a fine if posters are put up without permission. Amrapali said that movie posters and wall writings are prohibited on the walls. 

Unauthorized display of movie posters and commercial advertisements is prohibited. Regulations have been issued that movie posters cannot be posted. In this regard, she said that she would soon talk to the local printers and send instructions to the Deputy Commissioners.

Ban on unauthorized posters, wall writings, cutouts, and flexis will applicable to both public and private establishments throughout the city. To ensure compliance, the GHMC outlined steps that include meetings with local printers and coordination with film theatre owners.

The deputy commissioner has been assigned to convene discussions with local printers to prevent unauthorized poster printing, and strict notices will be issued to those involved in the illegal production of posters.

Furthermore, the circular emphasizes that film theatre owners must ensure that no movie posters are displayed on walls without proper authorization.

The notice highlights the importance of preserving Hyderabad’s aesthetic appeal through strict measures to maintain the cleanliness of compound walls and public spaces. Already as part of its `Clean Hyderabad’ drive, the HYDRA has been demolishing illegal constructs in the river and lakes embankment places at a massive scale. Moreover, it has  started to clear encroachments in Musi embankment areas, for which it has started a survey. The survey has been receiving severe protests from affected people.
