TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao today targeted the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and its president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on several issues in the house. He pointed out a recent property tussle between Jagan and his sister, YS Sharmila, and questioned how someone who could not even settle his own family dispute could govern a political party.
Ganta criticized the YSRCP for prioritizing political interests over the welfare of the public, stating that despite financial difficulties, the government continues to push forward with welfare initiatives and development projects. He pointed out that pensions are being distributed directly to beneficiaries, eliminating the need for volunteers, which he views as indicative of the party’s focus on politics rather than public service.
In his comments on the property dispute, Ganta expressed concern over the erosion of trust within the party, noting that loyal members are increasingly leaving the YSRCP, with more departures expected in the near future. He referenced a recent letter from Jagan’s mother, Vijayamma, suggesting it has significantly tarnished the party’s reputation and hinted that Jagan may soon find himself isolated within the YSRCP.
Additionally, Ganta raised serious allegations regarding Jagan’s wealth, claiming that his assets skyrocketed from ₹92 lakhs in 2004 to an astonishing ₹370 crores by 2009. He highlighted that Jagan is facing 47 legal cases, making him one of the most scrutinized political figures in the state, second only to the infamous Chambal Devi.
As part of his commitment to transparency and governance, Ganta assured that decisions regarding the controversial Rushi Konda buildings would be made soon. He concluded by reiterating that the coalition government remains dedicated to fulfilling all promises made to the citizens of Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the importance of accountability and integrity in leadership.
