Full Pledged Poll Campaign Kick Starts In AP From Today

With only 46 days left for the elections and all the major parties have announced most of their candidates, Andhra Pradesh is now set for a full pledged poll campaign from Wednesday. Incidentally, main contenders for power, Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy and TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu are ignating their poll campaign from their native districts on the same day.

Jagan Mohan Reddy will start his bus yatra ‘Memanta Siddham’ from his native place, Idupulapaya in Kadapa district. He will be addressing some public meetings, roadshows and interacting with party workers at the grassroots level.

He will cover all constituencies from Idupulapaya to Itchapuram during his yatra. He will be covering Kumarunipalli, Vempalli, Sarvarajupeta, VN Palli (Kamalapuram), Gangireddypalli, Urutur, Yerraguntla (Jammalamadugu) and Potladurthi on the first day.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who was on his two-day whirlwind tour in his Kuppam constituency, will launch his continuous Prajagalam programme on the same day. He will participate in the roadshows and address public meetings.

He will cover four Assembly constituencies everyday till March 31. He will tour Palamaneru, Nagari and Nellore rural mandal, Raptadu, Singanamala and Kadiri Assembly segment, Srisailam, Nandikotkuru, Kurnool, Mydukuru, Prodduturu, Sullurupeta, Srikalahasthi Kavali, Markapuram, Santanutalapadu and Ongole.


Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is also ready to kickstart his campaign from Saturday. Pawan Kalyan will blow the poll bugle from Pithapuram Assembly constituency, from where he is contesting. Pawan will conclude his statewide poll campaign in three phases covering all the constituencies from where Jana Sena candidates are contesting.

However, the BJP is yet to swing into a campaign mood as its leaders are locked up in internal contradictions on seats allocation. The party is yet to announce its candidates for 10 assembly constituencies, it is contesting. Party state leaders who are one a two-day meet in Vijayawada from Tuesday, are expected to finalize assembly candidates by Wednesday evening.
