Four more new airports are going to be established in Andhra Pradesh, said Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. He inspected the construction work of the Bhogapuram International airport along with state ministers Gummidi Sandhyarani and Kondapalli Srinivas on Sunday.
Rammohan Naidu said that they are thinking of constructing new airports at Moolpet in Srikakulam district, Kuppam in Chittoor district, Dagadarthi in Nellore district and Nagarjunasagar in Guntur district.
The Union Minister also said that Bhogapuram Airport is also targeted to be opened by June 2026, six months ahead of its schedule. It is explained that all the work is going on fast. On the other hand, if the Bhogapuram airport is completed, he is hopeful that the face of Northern Andhra will change dramatically.

He said that after they came to power the speed of its construction increased and appreciated that GMR and L&T companies are completing the construction work fast. He said that there has been four percent progress in the works of Bhogapuram Airport since the month of July till now.
Minister Rammohan Naidu said that the works of Bhogapuram airport are 36 percent completed so far. As of July 11, the earthworks were 97.3% completed and today 98% is completed, he said. He made it clear to the officials that he will review the airport works every month.
On the other hand, as the TDP is a key partner in the NDA alliance at the Centre, the civil aviation department went to TDP MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. With this, TDP hopes to complete the necessary airport construction and airport development works in the state.
In this order, the minister is also taking a special initiative on the construction of Bhogapuram airport works. Rammohan Naidu also focused on the establishment of new airports in other parts of the state.
He said that the people of Telangana area are also asking for airports at Warangal, Adilabad and Ramagundam in Telangana state. However, he said that unless there is at least 1,000 to 1,500 acres of land, the airport cannot be proposed.
