Former YSRCP Minister Peddireddy says Unable To Attend Enquiry Into Bugga Matham Lands Row

Punganur MLA and former YSRCP minister Dr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has expressed his inability to attend for an enquiry at Bugga Matham over lands row. Responding to the notices serviced by Bugga Matham EO Venkateshwarlu asking him to be present in the Matham on Thursday, he said that he could not attend due to pre-arranged activities as a public representative.

He was served notices to explain the encroachment of their lands in Tirupati city as per the orders of the High Court. He was asked to attend personally or send a representative to the Matham office on the 17th and hand over the records, if any. When the notices were issued, Ramachandra Reddy said that his younger brother and Thamballapalle MLA Peddireddy Dwarakanath Reddy had purchased those lands.

He only said that he would provide those records. 3.88 acres of land in survey number 261/1 and 261/2 in the Emarpalli area was allegedly occupied by the Peddireddy family. In the case of encroachment of Bugga Matham lands, the authorities have also served notices to Degala Muniswamy, Pattem Venkatarayalu, Yashodamma, and Purandhar.

It is reported that they were also given notices on the 11th of this month, but were told that they could not appear for various reasons. Earlier, notices were also given on April 3. On Wednesday, the Math EO Venkateswarlu, staff, and Tirupati Urban Survey staff went to Maruti Nagar along with the police for a survey on encroachments.

It was announced that the survey had been postponed for some time. It seems that the higher authorities have asked them to come back, thinking that there will be a problem of law and order as the chairman and members of the 16th Finance Commission are visiting Tirumala on Thursday.

Matham EO Venkateswarlu said that “We will definitely conduct the survey after obtaining permission from the authorities. We have served notices to Peddireddy to come to the Math office on the 17th. They have sent a letter stating that they are unable to come due to other work. We will also bring this matter to the attention of the authorities”.

Meanwhile, Peddireddy has built a luxurious residential building on 4.20 acres of Bugga Matham lands in Maruthi Nagar and Royal Nagar in the heart of Tirupati. Peddireddy, who claims to have bought the lands, has allegedly encroached on 3 acres of Buggam Matham lands opposite his house.
