A day after key leader of the party and confident of former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy was arrested at Bengaluru International Airport in AP Liquor Scam, another prominent leader and former minister Kodali Nani is believed to be taken into custody in Kolkata airport on Wednesday.
There are several cases against Kodali Nani, who started his political journey from TDP, but later shifted to YSRCP and became bitter critic of TDP, particularly Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. It is reported that the police, who issued lookout notices, have detained him at the Kolkata airport.
There are complaints that Kodali Nani committed irregularities during the YSRCP regime. After the alliance came to power, cases were registered against Kodali Nani, including cheating people by issuing fake pattas just ahead of last year’s election.
Initially, Kodali Nani approached the courts to avoid police interrogation and later was admitted to the hospital due to health problems. He underwent bypass surgery at a hospital in Mumbai. Kodali Nani, who is gradually recovering, has been attending personal events again for a few days.
A few days ago, photos of Nani attending a wedding went viral. At the same time, lookout notices were issued on him. Meanwhile, the police reportedly stopped Kodali Nani who was allegedly going from Kolkata to Colombo.
