Former TDP Minister Somireddy Demands `Bigg Boss’ should Be sent To Jail In iLquor scam

Former minister and Telugu Desam Polit Bureau member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy demanded that the real `Bigg Boss’ should be sent to jail in the liquor scam. He was furious that many poor people lost their lives after drinking substandard liquor due to `Bigg Boss’ greed. He demanded that the Center immediately intervene and bring the CBI and ED into the liquor scam.

If Arvind Kejriwal was arrested, when he was Delhi Chief Minister, for the Rs. 100 crore liquor scam, he alleged that what happened during Jaganmohan Reddy’s tenure must be over Rs. 10,000 crores. “Liquor shops were closed for only 42 days during the Covid period. On the remaining days, sales in liquor shops decreased and unauthorized sales increased”, he alleged.

Somireddy said that it is an unforgivable crime to come to power with the promise of a ban on alcohol and take the lives of the poor with alcohol. He said that the CID has so far established only the Rs 3200 crore scandal in the liquor scam that took place during the Jagan’s era, and that unauthorized transactions were still made in large amounts.

He asked the CID to go deeper into the investigation of the liquor scam. He said that the liquor scam that went out illegally without going to the depots would be over Rs 10,000 crore. He questioned why the ED is not interfering if every piece of information is coming out in the CID investigation?

Somireddy said that the liquor scam that took place during Jagan’s era was an international scam and he accused him of transferring Rs. 1.35 lakh crores in cash and turning Digital Andhra into a cash-based Andhra. He said that the then YSRCP MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy closed a company he owned after he could not pay the bribes asked for during Jagan’s tenure.

The former minister recalled that top labs have confirmed that chemicals that can kill people are present in the liquor supply during Jagan’s tenure. He said that many poor people have lost their lives due to substandard liquor, and he asked that those responsible for this be punished. He deplored that a majority of those who lost their lives due to substandard liquor are BC, SC and ST.
