Former Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorababu to Join Jana Sena

Former MLA of Pithapuram Pendem Dorababu is ready to begin a new political journey with Jana Sena Party. On Monday night, he came to Amaravati with his family members and met at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri. He had meetings with Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. After his meeting, Dorababu finalized his entry into Jana Sena, receiving a warm embrace from Pawan Kalyan. His official joining the party will be announced on June 14 during grand Jana Sena foundation day functions in Pithapuram.

Dorababu, a key YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, won in the 2019 elections from Pithapuram by vanquishing TDP’s SVSN Varma. But as the elections for 2024 neared, his political life took a surprising turn. With Pawan Kalyan fighting from Pithapuram, YSRCP ignored Dorababu and instead chose Vanga Geetha. This move shelved Dorababu, who was refused a ticket to fight. Eventually, the outcome of the election saw Vanga Geetha losing and Pawan Kalyan winning with a huge margin.

Post-polls, Dorababu had made his discontent with the leadership of YSRCP very open and soon quit the party. There was rampant speculation about his future political step, with most speculating that he would join either TDP or Jana Sena. But it seems that TDP leader SVSN Varma had resisted Dorababu joining the party, and thus he had no other alternative but to join Jana Sena.

At his recent visit, Dorababu broke the news of his joining Jana Sena to Pawan Kalyan, and the party leaders also invited him to join the party. It was reported that Pawan Kalyan had advised him to join officially on the foundation day of Jana Sena in Pithapuram and begin a new and significant chapter in his political life.
