Former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has once again clarified that he will stick to his last year’s statement on his political retirement and he strongly denied media speculations of returning to active politics soon. Kesineni said that he had officially announced his retirement from politics on June 10, last year and that decision will not change.
However, he made it clear that he sincerely believes there is no need to be in politics to serve the people and his focus is only on contributing in every way to the development and well-being of the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency and its people. He thanked everyone who supported him on his journey. He said that he looks forward to continuing his service with the same passion and commitment.
Kesineni said that public service is his lifelong commitment and is beyond caste, religion and politics. He said that he will continuously work for the welfare of the people of Vijayawada parliamentary constituency and his service to the society is not linked to any political party or position, but is linked to a deep dedication to the well-being of his fellow citizens of Vijayawada.
Kesineni Nani said that he would like to request everyone not to believe any baseless news regarding his political comeback. The two-time TDP MP of Vijayawada had unexpectedly joined the YSRCP, just before the 2014 elections. Not only that, he targeted Chandrababu Naidu, who gave him a ticket twice and made him win, besides Nara Lokesh.
He also contested from Vijayawada as YSRCP candidate expecting a hat-trick win, but he faced defeat from his own younger brother Kesineni Chinni, who contested as TDP candidate. After that, he said goodbye to politics.
Meanwhile, speculations are spreading that he is in touch with BJP leaders, particularly state BJP chief D Purandeswari and praising union minister Nitin Gadkari whenever the occasion arose. Also due to his recent interaction with his followers has been giving scope to speculate he is intending to return to active politics joining BJP.
