Former MLA of Kodumur in Kurnool district and former DCC president P. Muralikrishna joined the BJP in the presence of AP BJP state president and MP Daggubati Purandeshwari, along with several Congress leaders. Purandeshwari draped the party shawl and welcomed him.
He draped the party shawl in the presence of Purandeshwari during the state level meeting of the SC Morcha at the AP BJP state office. Murali Krishna was once a key figure in the Congress party and was recognized as a crorepati. He contested from Kodumur in the past and won as an MLA. After the bifurcation of the state, Murali Krishna remained neutral for a few days.
Later, he joined the YSRCP. The then Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy made him a member of the TTD board. In this sequence, he expected a Kodumur MLA ticket from YSRCP. However, when the ticket was given to someone else, Murali Krishna rejoined the Congress. While he was continuing as the DCC president, he lost the post of DCC president due to some of his own decisions.
Meanwhile, Purandeshwari said at the BJP SC Morcha state executive meeting that since the time of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Congress has been insulting Ambedkar. She recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly said, ‘I became the Prime Minister because of Ambedkar’s Constitution.’ She said that even though the Constitution of India has been amended 22 times, it is for the people.
She said that the Constitution has not been changed to overthrow governments or suppress freedom of speech, and they are taking these developments to the people through the SC Morcha. She said that she is happy that AP has got two Guinness records on the occasion of Yoga Day.
The former union minister said that they will pay tributes on the occasion of Shyam Prasad Mukherjee’s martyrdom day on the 23rd. Along with Emergency Day, they are organizing a program to plant a sapling in the name of their mother, and they will organize Dalit gatherings across the state to explain everything to the people, Purandeswari added.
