Amaravati: Former Eluru MLA Alla Nani, also known as Kalikrishna Srinivas, is expected to formally join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today. Sources indicate that the announcement will take place in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu following the cabinet meeting scheduled at the Secretariat.
Alla Nani, who contested the previous assembly elections from the Eluru constituency as a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate, faced defeat. Following this, he resigned from both the YSRCP’s district president position and his party membership, declaring his intention to step away from active politics.
While there were earlier speculations about his potential entry into the Jana Sena Party, Nani has now reportedly decided to align with the TDP. He has previously served as an MLA for three terms and held significant roles, including Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Sources also reveal that a senior leader from Vizianagaram district played a pivotal role in facilitating Nani’s transition to the TDP, holding discussions with party leadership to finalize his induction.
