Former chief minister and YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy came out of his Tadepalli palace residence for the first time on Friday after being badly defeated in the recent election to take oath as MLA in the assembly. He is seen as hesitant and defensive.
He was present in the Assembly for a few minutes only during the time of taking oath and spent about one hour in the room allotted to his party MLAs, later went back to his palace. He was seen looking confused while taking oath.
He went to Potem Speaker Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdhury looking at his watch and politely wished him. Chaudhary gently touched his shoulders. He wished Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who politely responded. But he did not tried to wish other ministers and senior members.
Jagan came to the assembly with his own security. Jagan sat with YSRCP MLAs in the room formerly the Deputy Speaker’s chamber. When it was time to take his oath, he stepped into the house. YSRCP MLAs were also sitting next to him. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and other YSRCP MLAs are next to Jagan.
Jagan reached the Legislative Assembly premises from the back gate of the Assembly instead of from the road towards the Amaravati farmers’ camp, fearing protests. In the past, he used to come to the assembly from the Seed Axis Road through Mandamam amidst curtains and heavy deployment of police force on both sides of the road.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed MLAs of TDP and its allies that they should not disrespect Jaganmohan Reddy regardless of his behaviour in the assembly and act soberly. He asked them to be polite. He also ordered Jagan’s vehicle inside the assembly premises, though as an ordinary MLA he has to get down from his car at the gate and enter the assembly by foot.
