First Nature Cure Medical College In AP set To start Admissions In Visakha From Next Academic Year

Admissions are going to start in the first Nature Cure Medical College in the state in Visakhapatnam from the academic year 2026-27. AYUSH integrated hospitals are being prepared in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. Also, a government Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing and quality testing laboratory is also going to come up in Visakhapatnam city, said State Medical and Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav.

After the bifurcation of the state, the central government approved the establishment of a Nature Cure Hospital and two integrated AYUSH hospitals in 2016-17. The previous government that came to power acted irresponsibly by not continuing the efforts made by the then government.

After the coalition government came to power, with the initiative shown by Minister Satyakumar, Rs. 7.17 crores were sanctioned for the Kakinada hospital, Rs. 4.18 crores for the integrated hospital in Visakhapatnam, and Rs. 4.08 crores for the Nature Cure Medical College.

Classes in the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS) course will start from the academic year 2026-27 at the Nature Cure Medical College, which was established at a cost of Rs. 16.40 crore on the VIMS campus in Visakhapatnam. The Center will approve the filling of 50 seats in the BNYS course.

The construction work of the 50-bed Ayush Integrated Hospital, which was established at a cost of Rs. 14.85 crore next to this college, is also nearing completion. Ayurvedic, Homeopathic and Unani medical services will soon be available to the public in this hospital. Based on this, the Center will give permission for admissions.

Since it is a government institute, there is a facility to start admissions quickly. The state government is also taking steps to establish a Nature Cure Hospital specifically for the establishment of the Nature Cure Medical College. The state government has sent proposals to the Center for the establishment of this hospital with 50 beds. Approximately Rs. 16 crore will come from the Center.

Meanwhile, the construction of the Ayurvedic pharmacy and drug testing laboratory building in the Sontyam area of Visakhapatnam has been completed at a cost of about Rs. 6 crore. The state government will be purchasing equipment, machinery and other items at a cost of about Rs. 5 crore.
