FIR Registered Against Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Bikaner, Rajasthan: Renowned Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been booked following allegations of financial fraud and intimidation during the production of his upcoming film ‘Love and War’. The FIR was filed at Bichwal Police Station in Bikaner on Monday night by Prateek Raj Mathur, CEO of Radha Films and Hospitality from Jodhpur.

Mathur alleged that he was appointed as a line producer for the film and, despite handling crucial responsibilities such as government approvals and security arrangements, was later removed without receiving the agreed remuneration. He further claimed that Bhansali and his production managers, Utkarsh Bali and Arvind Gill, threatened him and used abusive language during an incident on August 17 at Hotel Narendra Bhavan, Bikaner, warning that his company would be denied future opportunities. The FIR cites charges of cheating and breach of trust.

Initially, local police had refused to register the complaint, prompting Mathur to approach the court. Acting on court orders, authorities registered the FIR and began an investigation. Officials confirmed that all claims are being examined and further action will be taken based on investigation findings.

‘Love and War’, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, was partially shot in Bikaner, including at Junagarh Fort. The film is scheduled for a December release. Bhansali previously faced significant opposition in Rajasthan during the filming of Padmavat.
