It is going to be very difficult for Pawan Kalyan to balance his films and politics. Till now, he has somehow managed to sail on two boats despite criticism from his opponents. After Chandra Babu Naidu’s arrest last year, Pawan completely shifted his focus to politics and didn’t return to the sets again. He has been immersed in political activities all these nine months and kept his film commitments aside.
Now, the fate of all his films hangs in balance because Pawan Kalyan has a much bigger responsibility after he was inducted into Naidu’s cabinet as Deputy CM, along with key ministries. Following the stupendous victory of Janasena in the recent assembly elections, Pawan will need to concentrate more on improving the base for his party. Besides this, the Pithapuram MLA will need to handle the six ministries effectively for the next five years.
It is a known fact that Pawan Kalyan has agreed to complete his upcoming films, OG, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh, before the 2024 elections. However, he was unable to do it due to an unexpected change in the dynamics of AP politics since Naidu’s arrest last year. Later, he got busy with election campaigning and results.
Now, he has an additional responsibility to look after the portfolios allotted to him. He was given the Panchayati Raj ministry along with others like rural development, science and technology, environment, forest, and rural water supply.
It is impossible for him to go for a shoot for few days and return to his ministerial duties again for remaining days. Moreover, he cannot afford to face criticism from his opponents for not being a responsible politician after such a decisive mandate.
There is a considerable portion of the shoot left for Ustaad Bhagat Singh and Hari Hara Veera Mallu. OG also requires his presence for a few weeks to complete the left-over part. So, he cannot simply wind them up in a single stretch.
As of now, the fate of three producers will be at the mercy of Pawan Kalyan. On the other side, his film with Surender Reddy, which was launched last year, is most likely to be shelved.
