Farmers Felt cheated with Revanth Reddy’s Half-Hearted Rythu Bharosa

Not only chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge had repeatedly promised during elections that they would give Rs 15,000 per year under `Rythu Bharosa’ and created many hopes among farmers, as against Rs 10,000 paid by KCR’s regime.

However, keeping silent for one year, now  announcing that he would give only Rs 12,000 per year is said to be cheating the farming community, who are waiting with a lot of hopes.  Moreover, his condition that this will be given only for arable lands creates confusion. While ministers stating they would give for cultivating lands, Chief Minister using word arable lands, without giving any specifications.

Both BRS and BJP leaders are accusing the Chief Minister of backstabbing the farmers with false promises. Even with a nominal increase of Rs 2,000, Chief Minister did not mention about arrears for the last one years.

It may be recalled that ahead of elections, the Congress supreme leader Rahul Gandhi has announced a special Rythu Declaration  in Warangal. Rahul Gandhi had promised in the Warangal Declaration that he would provide Rs. 15,000 investment assistance to farmers. While it was raining heavily, on May 6, 2022, they showered farmers with promises.

After that, Priyanka and Mallikarjuna Khare also made the same promise in the meetings. Finally, Sonia, Rahul, and Kharge went back on their word. Disappointing the farmers who were hoping to get Rs. 15,000 per acre if the Congress government comes, they announced that they would give only Rs. 12,000.

‘Why is the fist that KCR is giving Rs 10,000? We will give Rs. 15,000 per acre when our government comes,’ Revanth Reddy promised during the election campaign. Now, they are pushing aside the Rs. 15,000 promise and adding only Rs 2,000 to that Rs 10,000.

It has already been a year since the Congress party came to power. However, they have not paid the farmer guarantee for a year. The farmers who were hoping that they would keep their promise despite the delay and would also pay the arrears due last year have been completely disappointed.

They are only going to divide the arrears of the farmer guarantee for the missed year and add them to the next four years at the rate of  Rs 2,000 each year, but they have not given any additional relief to the farmers. In other words, compared to the past, farmers have lost another Rs.2,000 per acre during the Congress rule.
