Tollywood is constantly witnessing its top actors venture out of their acting roles into the world of production, with many venturing into it. Blazing the trail left by celebrities like Nani, Ram Pothineni is set to start his own production house, which marks an important milestone in his career.
Ram has reinvented himself with mass-friendly roles and experimental forays over the years. Yet, some of his recent films have been disappointing. Presently, he is engaged in shooting for Andhra King Taluka, a unique drama that has Upendra also playing a role. Directed by P. Mahesh Babu and produced by the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film has gained significant buzz. But Ram has not revealed his plans for upcoming films.
As per industry sources, Ram is in the final leg of establishing his own production house. So far, he has worked mostly with Sri Sravanthi Movies, which is run by his uncle Kishore. The new production house will be his maiden independent venture as a producer. Sources say pre-production on his first film under his banner has already started.
What’s interesting is that Ram’s debut production will be helmed by a new and promising director who is directing his first film. The venture, said to be an action entertainer, will reportedly go on floors in January-February 2026.
While it is not yet known if Ram will produce only his own films or support other actors’ films as well, his production move already has everyone in Tollywood abuzz. Fans and observers alike wait with bated breath for a formal announcement of the name of his production house and details about the first film, likely before the close of this year.
This ambitious move marks a fresh chapter in Ram’s professional career — not only as a top actor but also as a creative producer.
