Education Minister Nara Lokesh has called for significant academic progress in the state’s government schools. Announcing a new rating system, he revealed that schools would be evaluated based on education quality and infrastructure facilities. The ratings will be determined at district and mandal levels, considering academic performance and essential infrastructure details. He also emphasized the importance of having clear data on whether students are enrolled in government or private schools.
Addressing issues within schools, Lokesh highlighted the Chief Minister’s directive to ensure nutritional value in midday meals. He acknowledged several complaints about meals in higher education departments and cleanliness in hostels. Concerns about basic facilities, such as toilets, also remain unresolved.
“We are gathering feedback from students. In parent-teacher meetings, we will introduce a campaign titled ‘Drugs, No Bro.’ We will strengthen our anti-drug campaign across all levels. Additionally, reforms are needed in the curriculum from KG to PG. We must see changes in both government and private schools,” Lokesh stated, advocating for a more robust educational infrastructure and student welfare system.
