In Andhra Pradesh, the alliance government has shared positive news for ration cardholders during the Dussehra festival season. To ease the strain caused by the soaring prices of essential goods, the government has made a key decision to support ration cardholders. Minister Nadendla Manohar, following a meeting with Civil Supplies Department officials, announced this significant move. Furthermore, this decision will take effect from today.
Due to the rising cost of essential goods like cooking oil during the festive period, the government has taken steps to ease the burden on the poor. Starting today, ration shops will distribute these oils at lower prices. Palm oil will be sold at ₹110 per liter, while sunflower oil will be priced at ₹124 per liter. Ration cardholders will be allowed to purchase a maximum of three packets of palm oil and one packet of sunflower oil per family.
Minister Nadendla Manohar announced that the government has decided to offer cooking oils at lower prices as part of its strategy to manage the rising costs of essential commodities. He reaffirmed the coalition government’s dedication to assisting the public by taking steps to stabilize cooking oil prices. Additionally, it has been determined that a uniform price will be applied to cooking oils across the state to prevent any variations. These reduced prices will be upheld until the month’s end.
Minister Nadendla Manohar hosted a meeting at the Civil Supplies Bhavan in Vijayawada, where he engaged with cooking oil suppliers, distributors, Chamber of Commerce representatives, and traders. The discussions aimed to address price regulation based on international market trends and the challenges confronting traders. Key issues included the decrease in imports from countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Ukraine, rising soybean meal costs, increased duty taxes on cooking oils, reduced supply levels, and growing packing charges. The insights gained from these discussions influenced the decisions that followed.
