Andhra Pradesh Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has affirmed that the coalition government will issue the DSC notification in March without fail. Responding to a query from YSRCP members in the Legislative Council, he criticized the previous administration for failing to conduct a single DSC recruitment during its tenure.
Addressing the House, Lokesh stated that unemployed youth have been eagerly awaiting the notification and deserve a clear response. “In the five years of YSRCP rule, not a single teacher recruitment was conducted. The party must answer for this lapse. Since 1994, a total of 2,60,194 teacher posts have been filled, of which 1,80,272 were during the TDP government’s tenure. This means that 70% of teacher appointments took place under TDP rule,” he said.
Highlighting his commitment to the recruitment process, Lokesh noted that his first official signature as minister was on the DSC file. “As part of this, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was conducted on July 2, 2024. Of the 4.27 lakh applicants, 3.68 lakh appeared for the exam, and 1.87 lakh qualified. The TET examination process was successfully completed between October 3 and October 21, 2024,” he explained.
Lokesh further stated that the One-Man Commission’s report on the classification process is expected soon. “The coalition government takes full responsibility for issuing the DSC notification in March. I assure unemployed youth that this commitment will be fulfilled. It is unfortunate that opposition leaders raise questions about my department but refuse to engage in discussions. Even now, they should try to understand the facts,” he concluded.
