Dr Swamy Asks Is Modi Blackmailed By Sonia In Rahul’s British Passport Issue?

Former Union Minister Dr. Subramanian Swamy known for his sharp intellect and fierce criticism, is known for locking several high-profile political leaders into litigation. It was his petition that led former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha to be jailed in a disproportionate assets case.

Once a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned a bitter critic nowadays after realizing he has no place in his government or the BJP.

Besides his criticism of Modi’s economic and security policies, particularly the government’s silence of Chinese encroachment of over 4,000 kms of Indian soil on the border, he is now taking task for the government’s alleged silence over his allegation of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi having a British citizenship, violating Indian laws.

According to Swamy, Rahul Gandhi holds British citizenship, a narration that would render him ineligible to participate in Indian politics. Swamy claims to have irrefutable evidence that Rahul Gandhi, under the alias ‘Raul Vinci,’ served as a director for a UK-based company, thus compromising his Indian citizenship.

He has gone so far as to accuse Modi and Shah of protecting Rahul Gandhi, alleging that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul’s mother and a powerful figure within the Congress, has blackmailed the BJP leadership with threats of nationwide unrest if action is taken against her son, Rahul Gandhi.

Swamy took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a picture of a document which he said is the annual return Rahul filed with the UK government as a British citizen. He further questioned PM Narendra Modi and targeted Sonia Gandhi asking if the latter was “blackmailing” the PM for not taking action.

“This is Rahul Gandhi’s Annual Return filed with the British Government as a British citizen. Is Modi blackmailed by Sonia to not take action?” Swamy said on X while sharing the picture.

Despite these claims, which date back to 2003, Swamy has refrained from pursuing legal action against Rahul Gandhi. Instead, he has taken his case to the court of public opinion, leveraging social and mainstream media to sow doubt and confusion among the masses.

This dramatic shift has led to widespread criticism of Swamy. Former allies and critics alike have accused him of betraying the public trust and misleading the nation.
