Lok Satta chief Dr Jayaprakash Prakash Narayana extends support to the NDA allies in Andhra Pradesh, in the forthcoming polls. Referring that NDA partners TDP, Jana Sena and BJP are contesting together in the polls, he deplored over worsening political scenario in the state.
Lamenting that the anarchy is continuing in the state, he said that a ‘caste war’ is dominating the political scenario. While Reddys are supporting YCP, he said Kammas and Kapus are on the side of the opposition.
Expressing concern over the rat race for welfare programmes in politics, he said that only development will bring a good change in the lives of the people. He cautioned that it is not appropriate to spend on welfare by bringing debts. If welfare dominates, he warned that the country and also the state has to bow down in the path of progress.
However, he asserted that development is possible only by eradicating poverty. Stating that welfare means temporary benefits and development means long-term wealth creation, he said that there is a need to provide employment and encourage investment.
JP depored that there is no leader who works across castes. In the past, he said that many leaders have worked for the society regardless of caste and religion and flagged that some have become stupid and ignorant. He expressed his anger saying that if the mistake is pointed out, the name of caste, religion and region is brought to the fore.
Referring to repressive YS Jagan’s regime, JP alleged that those in power are acting like dictators. If you are in support, they will be treated on the path of flowers and if you are an opponent, it is being changed into a path of thorns.
He said that every rupee spent by the government belongs to the people and explained that our money is our right. Economic progress is necessary for the good of the country and the people. However, JP accused that for the last five years, there has been no progress in Andhra Pradesh.
He said that in five years AP’s reputation has deteriorated. There is a fear of making investments. It is said that welfare schemes have been implemented while exploiting. “This is not public governance,” JP said.
He lamented that the situation in Andhra Pradesh has become worse than that of Odisha. He recalled that Odisha has a revenue of Rs.26 thousand crores. Loans are made as per requirement. No fuss. The massive publicity. He reminded that economic development and creation of infrastructure are provided by good governance. JP asserted that those who say reforms are not possible are corrupt and incompetent.
He deplored that the rulers are failing to improve the economy besides vast resources of a thousand kilometer coastal area. Uttar Pradesh, where caste, religion and violence reigned supreme, has also changed. JP vehemently criticized the situation in AP saying that it has become a disaster.
