Discontent against Union Minister and State BJP chief G Kishan Reddy’s leadership in Telangana BJP has been exposed once again as three-time party MLA Raja Singh has boycotted the crucial meeting conducted by Kishan Reddy on Hyderabad Local bodies MLC election.
As Raja Singh is the only from Greater Hyderabad and BJP is fielding Kishan Reddy’s selected Goutham Rao as its candidate, his absence from the meeting glaringly indicated that the BJP failed to present a united face.
Meanwhile, for the past few days, there has been a heated discussion in the party as if there are serious differences between Kishan Reddy and Raja Singh, who is keeping away from party activities after Assembly elections and he was denied to become Legislature Party leader.
Raja Singh has been alleging that the party leadership in the state is ignoring hard-core party activists and giving prominence only to one particular caste leader and also those who are not familiar with the party’s ideology and ethos. He is warning that it is impossible to bring BJP to power in Telangana under such `selfish’ leadership.
He is making a strong plea that it will be necessary to include every single community and every leader and move forward. But,he deplored that Kishan Reddy, who is in the position of state president, is giving priority to only a few people, and seniors have accumulated in the party for a few years.
During the selection of the candidate for the local body MLC elections, Raja Singh openly expressed his opinion to the state leadership. He criticized that this candidature would not be accepted and that BCs, SCs and STs should be given a chance.
However, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar intervened, went to his home and tried to pacify Raja Singh. Bandi Sanjay tried to assure him that it was his responsibility to give full priority to the state leadership without causing any trouble. On the same day, Hyderabad local body MLC candidate Gautam Rao also participated in this meeting.
Raja Singh also said in the media conference that we will work together and work for the BJP’s victory in the Hyderabad local body MLC elections. But, his absence at the crucial meeting conveyed to formulate strategy for the election, indicating that he is unable to adjust with the present BJP leadership in the state.
