Director Sukumar is currently engaged in post-production and final shooting stages for Pushpa-2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun. Set to be one of India’s biggest releases, the trailer for this highly-anticipated film is scheduled for launch on November 17 in Patna, Bihar, with the film’s theatrical release planned for December 5.
Meanwhile, the release timeline of Pushpa-2 has impacted another project, Selfish, produced by Dil Raju and directed by Sukumar’s protégé, Kasi, with Ashish Reddy in the lead role. Sukumar’s own production house, Sukumar Writings, is co-producing the film. Although Selfish commenced filming last year and completed about 50% of its shoot, Dil Raju sought Sukumar’s input for adjustments in the storyline.
With Sukumar presently focused on Pushpa-2, he advised Dil Raju to defer story discussions until after Pushpa-2’s release, resulting in a temporary pause in Selfish’s production. In a press meet today, Dil Raju announced that filming for Selfish would resume after finalizing story changes with Sukumar, commending the director’s commitment to supporting his team even amid a packed schedule.
