Sandeep Reddy Vanga, made his debut as a director with a sensational film like Arjun Reddy and made a mark for himself in the industry, has again embroiled in another controversy. He challenged an IAS officer who commented on the film Animal.
An IAS officer named Vikas Divyakirti criticized the film Animal and said that such films take us back ten years. He criticized the hero behaving like an animal in the film and questioned how he only thinks in terms of money and does not care about values? However, Sandeep responded boldly to this and deplored that the IAS officer said that he had committed a crime.
He said that he would get angry if someone unnecessarily attacked his film like this. “If you go to Delhi and join some institute and work hard for two or three years, you can become an IAS, but it is not that easy to become a director and writer”, he said.
He said that if you read 1500 books, you can become an IAS officer, but if you want to be a director or a writer or filmmaker, there is no course or teacher. He said, ‘I remember the comments made by an IAS officer recently on the movie Animal.’
What happened so far is that Vikas Divya Keerthi, a former IAS officer who played a UPSC professor in ‘12th Fail’, gave an interview during the release of the movie. He said that society needs such message-filled films. Later, he made a comment about ‘Animal’ and said such films are unnecessary for society.
He advised that it would be better if social values were followed while making a movie. Director Sandeep Reddy said, “He is of the opinion that such films should not be made at all. He said that this film has taken society back ten years. His comments really hurt me. I felt like he was unnecessarily criticizing my film and I got angry”, he added.
