Hyderabad: Tollywood producer Dil Raju addressed the media on Saturday, speaking about the recent Income Tax (IT) raids conducted at his residence and offices over a span of four days. He described IT raids as a routine part of business operations and noted that similar raids were also conducted on other film and business personalities.
Dil Raju revealed that this was the first IT raid on his establishments in 18 years. He stated that the Income Tax officials reviewed the account books and were reportedly surprised by their clarity, affirming that all financial records were in order. He also mentioned that less than ₹20 lakh in cash was found at his residence and offices during the operation.
Emphasizing the procedural nature of the raids, Dil Raju stated that no one was permitted to leave the premises during the inspections. He appealed to the media to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors regarding the raids.
Addressing speculation about his mother’s health, Dil Raju clarified that reports of her suffering a heart attack during the raids were false. He explained that his 81-year-old mother had experienced discomfort due to a lung infection on January19, the day the raids were conducted. She was treated at a hospital and is now recovering at home.
Dil Raju urged the public and media to avoid sensationalism and respect the facts surrounding the IT raids.
