Dil Raju — perhaps the most well-known name in Telugu cinema — has never been one to shy away from a good judgment call and steady success. From humble beginnings as a film distributor, he worked his way up into production and soon became one of the most successful producers in Tollywood. For years, audiences were convinced that any movie under the Dil Raju label was a sure-fire hit, and his record was the proof.
However, the past few years have not been entirely favorable for the ace producer. Except for Sankranthiki Vastunnam, many of the recent releases from his production house failed to make the desired mark at the box office. Even Dil Raju himself admitted publicly that things haven’t gone as expected in recent times.
But fortunes seem to be turning around for him. After distributing of Pawan Kalyan’s blockbuster OG, Dil Raju seems to have found his winning streak again. He recently revealed that the huge success of the film infused in him a new confidence and vigor to go ahead.
And now, fueled by all that new energy, Dil Raju is said to be planning a number of ambitious ventures across several industries. In Tollywood, he is said to be holding talks with pan-India star Prabhas and Power Star Pawan Kalyan for commercial vehicles. In Kollywood, speculation says that he has his eyes on a project with Thala Ajith. And in Bollywood, the producer has a remake of Sankranthiki Vastunnam in the works with Akshay Kumar and another big collaboration with Salman Khan.
Even though his past Hindi releases such as Jersey and Hit: The First Case failed to meet expectations, Dil Raju appears adamant on staging a massive comeback in Bollywood. With his aggressive cross-industry strategy, the audience and industry circles are eager to know if the season veteran producer can once again weave his signature magic and bring the hit success for which he is renowned.
