Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth are now officially divorced. Their divorce was finally granted by the Chennai High Court on November 27. Here are the details:
The former couple got married in 2004 in the presence of family and close friends. Their wedding was attended by many renowned film and political personalities. They were parents to two sons, Linga and Yatra. After 18 years of togetherness, the couple announced their separation on social media on January 17, 2022.
They shared a joint statement on Twitter about their decision to part ways. Despite their separation, they have continued to co-parent their children. More than two years after their announcement, the Madras High Court finally granted them a divorce.
Earlier, there was news that they both were reuniting, as the previous hearings were delayed, as neither Dhanush nor Rajinikanth appeared in court. Allegedly, Superstar Rajinikanth, Aishwarya’s father, attempted to mediate and tried to prevent the divorce, but those efforts went in vain.
As per the reports from Sun TV, the case had been heard three times earlier, and at a recent hearing on November 27, they attended the hearing, and they said that they cannot live together anymore, which led the Chennai Family Welfare High Court to grant them a divorce.
Recently, Dhanush made headlines after Nayanthara slammed the actor for not letting them use the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan content in her recent documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale’. Dhanush filed a case against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan for the usage of his film clips and demanded Rs. 10 crore.
