‘Devara’ Box office Fate Hangs on Dussehra Holidays

NTR’s ‘Devara : Part 1’ performed strongly in all territories the first weekend despite securing average reviews and word of mouth. After a sensational opening, the film managed to garner decent reviews on Saturday and Sunday. On the crucial Monday, there is no massive fall in revenues due to which grade circles heaved a sigh of relief. Even though the film didn’t take full advantage of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, the momentum didn’t fell short of the expectations. 

The first week numbers are impressive given the talk and reviews on the release date. Now, the film is entering the crucial second weekend. Except North America, where the film touched the break even mark, Devara hasn’t entered the profit zone in any single territory so far. So, the Dussehra holidays will play a significant role in deciding the fate of the film. 

Devara will need to perform on a decent note till Dussehra to sustain at the box office. As per trade analysts, the Koratala Siva directional might put the buyers of Telugu states in a safe zone if it takes advantage of the festival season and performs well in the next few days. As the chartbuster Daavudi song is being added from Friday shows, the buyers hoping for an uptick in the numbers in the second weekend.

Devara did a pre-release theatrical business of 180 Crores including all territories. So, the film need to collect a gross of 360 Crores in its full run to enter the safe zone. So far, the film collected around 300 Crores and will need to recoup sizeable revenues in the next few days.
