Next Friday will be a D-day for both NTR and Koratala Siva as they await the box office result of their second collaboration ‘Devara’, which is set for a humongous release amid high expectations. The outcome is very crucial for both the actor and the director due to several reasons. So, the film needs to strike big and emerge as a huge blockbuster.
Devara is NTR’s first solo film in six years. Though RRR brought him immense laurels and gave a big boost to his image, he needs to prove his box office potential as a solo hero and also consolidate his pan-India popularity with this film. If he fails to capture the attention of moviegoers in North India with Devara, his upcoming films might suffer due to poor market there.
As Devara will have one more part to complete the story, the success of first part plays a significant role. Both NTR and Koratala Siva are hoping that the first part ends in a cliffhanger and keeps the buzz alive for the second part. Only then the audience will eagerly wait for the next part. Or else, the second part will be shelved due to budget constraints and because of poor hype.
This will be a make or break film for Koratala Siva because his last film Acharya not only tanked heavily at the box office, but also damaged his reputation due to several controversies. The result also hurt him financially as per industry reports. NTR believed in his script and writing and offered him the chance after so much of deliberation.
Koratala needs to deliver big with Devara to redeem his image and also to survive for the next few years.
As soon much money is riding on the film, both NTR and Koratala will face a big test at the box office. They need to hit the bulls eye and score a blockbuster to live up to the hype. The film will hit the screens on September 27th.
