Australian cricketer David Warner is set to make his acting debut with a special appearance in the upcoming film Robinhood. Producer Ravi Shankar confirmed this development during the pre-release event of Kingston in Hyderabad.
Speculation regarding Warner’s entry into films has been circulating for some time, especially after his social media videos mimicking popular Tollywood actors gained widespread attention. His digitally altered videos featuring characters from Baahubali, Pushpa, and DJ Tillu further fueled discussions about his interest in acting.
Robinhood, directed by Venky Kudumula and starring Nithiin and Rashmika Mandanna, was partially shot in Australia last year. While a few stills of Warner from the sets had surfaced earlier, the production team had kept his involvement undisclosed until now. The film is scheduled for release on March 28.
Meanwhile, Kingston, starring Tamil actor and composer GV Prakash, is set for release this Friday. The film, based on a coastal village backdrop, hosted a pre-release event where the Robinhood team made the announcement regarding Warner’s role.
