MMRPS Founder President Manda Krishna Madiga expressed happiness over the verdict given by the Supreme Court regarding the sub-categorization of SC and ST reservations. He said that the credit goes to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and only because of that law justice survived.
If Chandrababu Naidu had not taken initiative by bringing a law on sub-categorization, he felt thousands of people may not be able to get jobs. As presently Chandrababu is Chief Minister, Krishna Madiga expressed confidence that the classification will be implemented with true spirit.
In Telangana also, he said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the Congress kept a lawyer favouring classification. So, he expressed hope that the Congress government will inevitably implement it. In this context, Krishna Madiga Madika appealed to the two Telugu state governments not to take up job appointments until the classification is completed.
“MMRPS has been fighting for classification for 30 years. Many leaders lost their lives in this struggle to correct the injustice done to the nation. We dedicate this victory to all those who gave their lives in the movement. Special thanks to the judges who gave a favorable verdict”, he said.
He also extended thanks to Prime Minister Modi who took the initiative to speed up the process. He thanked former vice president Venkaiah Naidu and Kishan Reddy who took the process forward.
Meanwhile, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict on SC and ST sub-categorization and said it is commendable that six members of the seven-member judges gave a unanimous opinion.
The TDP chief asserted that Social Justice is the ideology of Telugu Desam Party and with the aim of justice for all, he brought the ABCD classification after studying the economic conditions by setting up the Ramachandra Rao Commission in 1996-97, when he was the Chief Minister.
Justice to all castes, religions and communities according to population proportion is TDP’s ideology, he said. Moreover, he said that they had followed social justice in the recently held elections and the composition of the cabinet.
