CPM State Secretary V. Srinivasa Rao lamented Prime Minister Modi for insulting Andhra Pradesh, not giving the funds due to the state. He deplored that though Rs. 300 crores was spent for his public meeting in Kurnool, in the name of GST, he did not declare a single rupee investment for the state.
He warned that in the name of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the poor are being robbed and subsidies are being given to the elderly, and that people will not accept such policies and will turn against them. He said that Modi held a rally in Kurnool in a big way and that every time he comes to the state, he spends Rs. 300 crore to Rs. 400 crore, that is, Rs. 1200 crore to Rs. 1500 crore in a year.
However, he wondered that he did not give any assurance to the state. He said that Modi did nothing but praise Chandrababu, Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan in the rally. He expressed anger that when a young man named Arjun died due to electric shock in the same rally, his family was not taken care of. He wanted to answer the people about what Modi had done to Rayalaseema.
The CPM leader wanted to tell them how many of the 16 projects launched worth Rs 13,000 crore belonged to the state, Kurnool district and Rayalaseema. He criticized the campaign that all the projects in the country were started from here and given to the state. He said that during the bifurcation, they said that a railway wagon workshop would be set up at Panchaliganga in Kurnool, a textile park at Adoni, and a steel plant in Kadapa, but they were not exceptional.
Srinivasa Rao said that the foundation stone for the Kadapa steel plant was laid on the foundation stone and that international awards could also be given to it. He said that the inauguration ceremony of the Jairaj factory was held and that 1,100 jobs would be provided to 300 people. He said that construction workers are being shown in the employment figures.
He recalled that BJP had previously insulted TDP and demanded a special package of Rs. 20,000 crores in the name of Rayalaseema Declaration, but no BJP leader in the Legislative Assembly was talking about it. He said that there was no development of RDS, Vedavati and Gundrevu. He said that if water was given to 125 tanks through Handreniwa, thousands of acres would come under cultivation.
The CPM leader questioned who was stopping them from developing them? He said that if Rs. 5000 crores were given, medical colleges would be completed, but instead of doing so, Rs. 22,000 crores were given to Google, he said that such a large subsidy has never been given in the history of the world.
