The thirst and hunger for power can force supporters of political parties to stoop so low. That’s what happening in Andhra Pradesh as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress party has been trying to peddle fake news and create negativity on the government to gain political mileage.
While the much popular ‘Anna Canteens’ revived by the NDA regime on August 15th turning out to be a big hit as the poor and the needy people are able to afford meals at a nominal price throughout the day, YSR Congress party supporters are busy create a bad propaganda against the noble initiative through its inhumane conspiracies.
From the last couple of days, a video from one of the canteens in Tanuku has been going viral on social media platforms. In the video, used plates were retrieved from the wash basin sinks flooded with murky water. YSRCP claimed that plates are being cleaned with dirty water. The malafide intention behind this propaganda is to project that unhygienic conditions are prevailing at Anna Canteens.
Municipal Minister Narayana immediately took cognizance of the issue and alerted the authorities concerned to look into the matter and find out the veracity of the news. It is learnt that those who ate food there dumped the plates in the wash basin. As the sink was clogged up, the plates were submerged in it. Meanwhile, some YSRCP activists have reportedly dumped more plates to shoot the video and circulate it.
IT Minister Nara Lokesh, who is very active on social media, took no time to bust the fake propaganda and hit out at YSRCP for spewing venom on Anna Canteens. He asserted that taste, cleanliness and hygiene are given top priority.
The government is soon planning to reopen another 75 canteens in the second week of September. In the first phase, 100 canteens were opened on Independence Day.
